- Includes Harris Tweed evenings with
dyers, spinners, weavers and the luadh group, Crotal.
The main Festival
is held early in August but there
are weekly events held in the Harris Hotel function room, Taigh
mo Sheanar. Here you can relax in the evening and listen to
stories of Harris and the offshore islands including St Kilda.
You can hear the true traditional songs of the islands and see
slides of the magnificent scenery of Harris.
At times during the
summer the craftspeople of Harris hold evenings where they
display their skills in the making of Harris Tweed accompanied
by the songs associated with the making of Tweed.
Other events are hosted
for the Hebridean Celtic Festival in July 2008.

is one of the leading piano accordionists in the country and
Damien is an outstanding tenor banjo player and guitarist as
well as being hailed as 'one the finest singers around'. An
extremely gifted pairing, this instrumental and vocal duo play
an array of traditional and self penned tunes and songs
originating and influenced mainly from the Irish tradition
creating a sound which is exhilarating, passionate, skilful and
unique. Venue - Seallam! -
Located in Northton in the southern end of Harris this facility
features a year round exhibition on the history and natural
environment of the Hebrides and St Kilda as well as fine
Hebridean books and music. Catering for up to 60 people this is
a lovely small venue in one of the most scenic areas of the
islands.
